Missing persons, smut and the apocalypse…

I like to read. A LOT. I mow through books. I read at lunch and in the evenings. Lately, my poor PVR is overrun with recorded episodes that I never watch because I am too busy reading! My dream job would be reading for a living, but so far no one has taken me up on the offer.

I also like to share. I love telling my friends when I’ve read a really good book, and I love it when friends suggest books to me. It’s like it proves we were meant to be friends because we like the same books ;)

So here are my latest Reads:

Lethal Rider by Larissa Ione

Born of a match between good and evil, four siblings stand between hell’s minions and everything they want to destroy. They are the Lords of Deliverance, and they have the power to ward off Doomsday…or let it ride…

I like Larissa Ione’s sense of humor, her dialogue kills me, especially when I think of a thousand+ year old quasi-angel/horseman of the apocalypse thinking of someone as an ass-hat or douchebag.

Lots of action and fun mixed with good old-fashioned smut and laugh out loud moments.

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River.

This book was fabulous! So many twists and turns, I was almost dizzy reading it. This is the first book I’ve read in a long time where I couldn’t decide on a hero to root for.

The only small dark spot was that I found the ending too abrupt. When I see books that end this way it almost feels like the writer gave up, or just couldn’t find a way to resolve the characters.
