I’m walking for MS!
SO my good friend Heather came by to visit me on Monday. Heather and I go way back, and she is an amazing person. The kind of person who never does the bare minimum. The kind of person who organizes the kids Christmas party at work, and the employee party, and volunteer days, and just about anything else you can imagine. She just can’t sit still, she constantly growing and learning and helping. Always helping. She will literally go without to help someone else, she is fabulous.
Heather has MS.
I have watched her the last few years as her symptoms increased, and her pain increased, and marvelled at how it seemed not to slow her down. How she seemed to have it so well put together. I wondered how in the world could she do this?
It turns out she can’t. Or at least she shouldn’t, for her own sake.
I don’t want to go into to much detail, it’s her business, and I’m sure if she wanted the world to know, she would find a way to tell.
What I will tell you is that Heather is suffering. But there is so much hope. Researchers are so close to finding the cause of MS. There are ground-breaking treatments being researched RIGHT NOW. That is why I’m walking.
I’m walking to help find a cure. To support those who are suffering from this terrible mysterious disease. I’m walking to fund programs to improve their quality of life. I’m walking to support the research that I hope with all my might will provide a cure for my friend. I don’t want to see her suffer any more. She deserves so much more than that.
Please, if you can find it in your heart in these tough economic times, support me in my walk for MS. Anything you can contribute, even if it’s just words of kindness and spreading awareness is appreciated.
